Here at Mainair Microlight Centre, we aim to provide you with the most dedicated and thorough training environment you could wish for. Mark Jackson has been flying for over 33 years and has made Microlight flying his life. He has thousands of hours of experience in teaching people to fly microlights. Mainair is the first stop for someone looking for microlight training in Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire.

Our instructors at Mainair Microlight Centre are Civil Aviation Authority approved, and are dedicated to teaching you to the highest possible standard, using the latest "state of the art" P+M Aviation QUIK microlights.

We cover everything from a 30 min air experience trial flight through to your full National Private Pilots Licence, Radio Telephony Licence, and even advanced training for pilots who already have their licence, but would like some further training.

​

For you to gain your unrestricted Microlight licence, you need a minimum of 25 hours flying instruction. You also need to pass 5 written ground exams in Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation, Aeroplanes Technical and Human Performance. These are multiple choice exams and you will need to do some reading and ground school to gain the knowledge to pass them.

At the end of your training you will need to pass a General Skills Test with a qualified Examiner.

All this can be completed in house at Mainair Microlight Centre, over a time scale to suit you.

The best way to start is to book a 30 min or 60 min trial lesson so you can experience what flying one of these amazing machines is like.

Trial lessons start from £115 for 30 mins or £170 for 60 mins. ( Landing fees included in price)

​

Flying lessons thereafter cost £120 per hour.

 

There is a £15 landing fee to be paid to the airfield. ( Not applicable to trial flights)
